Does anyone honesty believe that a UAW-owned and -operated carmaker will ever be required to pay back the $12 billion it owes to American taxpayers?

1. mad bikini blogger:Barack Obama = Juan Peron … and he had Evita as the head of state… sigh.
Apr 30, 2009 - 11:18 am 2. RES:Stipulating that the massive, unprecedented government intrusion into the private economy was necessary (whether it was or not is a question for another day) this raises the question: What is Obama’s exit strategy?
It strikes me as wholly appropriate to reprise the Left’s criticisms of the War on Man-Made Disasters in challenging Obama’s economic policies. Obama lied, Businesses died!
Apr 30, 2009 - 11:18 am 3. Blaine:By the government if you mean members of Congress? Yes I think they will pay back the 12 billion in campaign contributions over the next 10 years.
Apr 30, 2009 - 11:49 am 4. Professor Guvinoff:Once in a while, absurdity pops up, in spite of all attempts to hide it.
After all, if it’s okay for the self-esteem of the pupils to eliminate the most precious option available to teachers when it comes to grading the student’s work, and it’s alright to treat our enemies better than our friends, and the government places the continuance of failed banks above the prospects of our children, why not have a car company run by its worker’s union?
My fellow tea partiers, we face many challenges, and boredom is not one of them.

Apr 30, 2009 - 2:32 pm 7. Frank Martin:Tell you what, I’ll gladly pay another 12 billion just to get them to go away and never come back.
Apr 30, 2009 - 2:38 pm 8. BrotherJ:RES, don’t you mean the Contingecy Operation on Man-Made Disasters? We can’t use that other word anymore.
Apr 30, 2009 - 6:42 pm 9. jon:Why pay the $12B back? If I could string the government along as easily as these guys, I’d only visit the government, with hat in hand, and apologize for the lack of positive cash flow. And walk out with a check.
May 1, 2009 - 4:36 am 10. Bret:I’ll second Frank Martin’s statement. I will be quite happy if the UAW owned company goes bankrupt. Hopefully in short order.
