As usual, substituting shallow analysis and a quip for serious consideration of the issues involved.

We do not, of course, know critical details that are vital for reaching an informed judgement on the matter, but flippantly alleging it’s about an unwillingness to “kill our enemies” does a disservice to everyone.

At the very least, once again, it appears that the vice president (who had NO Constitutional role to play) thwarted the ability of Congress (which DOES have a Constitutional role) to do it’s duty.

No one who believes in limiting the power of the government should find this at all satisfactory. Unfortunately the bulk of America’s conservatives have completely lost the ability to think or remember first principles, leading to a “conservative” goverment that busted the budget, waged war recklessly and incomeptently and showed an utter disregard for the law, checks and balances or honor.

I just love it when someone comes to VodkaPundit for sober commentary and leaves disappointed.

And I love it double when they feel compelled to comment with 20 or 30 sober words to each of my drunken nine or ten. Makes me feel all squishy inside.

Seth is also full of it. Check out Ed Morrissey’s post about this, including a commenter’s explanation of what a “finding” is. Short version: key Congressional leaders were informed, a fact mentioned in the Wall Street Online article.

Don’t worry, Stephen. Some of us appreciate the sarcasm and irony dripping from every tasty post. You put the “snark” into … snark. No. Waitaminute. That doesn’t work…

And Seth, failure to acknowledge the leaks about other spying programs is shallow analysis. If members of Congress can’t be trusted to keep secrets they shouldn’t complain about not being told.

Eight years and they managed to spend only about a million dollars?!? What kind of government program is this?

Since we are openly doing the things this program supposedly secretly intended to do, the details better be juicy. If it doesn’t involve UFOs and mind control, I will be very disappointed.
